Of Kings and Kingdoms
Just a couple of weeks ago,
our country elected a new leader.
All who voted, voted with the hope
that their choice would improve our country.
And as we look forward to the future,
we all look forward with hope and with faith
that God is in charge.
We will always need a reminder
that no matter what has happened,
no matter what is happening,
and no matter what will happen,
God is still in charge.

The Day the Music Didn’t Die
Chuck Lorre, the television executive
who produces the show The Big Bang Theory,
recently offered at the end of that show
what he called a “Non-Partisan,
Non-Denominational Prayer for America:
God, make this election be over soon. Amen.”
In a year of escalating political conflict,
radical polarization, fearmongering, and mudslinging,
I imagine there are many Americans praying that prayer,
or one very much like it.
